But everything described above is peace of cake, compared to what happened later in the evening. My socially more developed friend got to know one local guy (Rama) the day before and Rama invited him to join 6th birthday party of his daughter. As odd as the invitation was (for us - Europeans) - we decided to take the chance. The party started at Rama's office, with his co-workers, bottle of rum and discussions about life. After some time (when I had lost hope to get to birthday of Rama's daughter at all), we were divided to motorbikes of locals and the ride to Rama's place began. When waving to my friend "See you later", then of course the joke "what see you?" had to be made by "my motor-cycler"! ;)) But without a doubt we arrived at Rama's place and were very very welcome. One young couple from France (both teachers and living here already two years / six months) was also participating - also friends of Rama. So - we were not so hyper-cyper-special guests after all! ;) First we had another bottle of rum with some snacks and continuous conversation about everything and nothing - only (Indian) men, and two women - me and the French girl. The door was locked and it seemed to be a Very Important Room for Very Important Guests. I don't know.. maybe it is only my interpretation. But seemed that in other rooms other parallel parties were going on - for women, for children, for other men, for older people, etc. After drinking another bottle(s) of rum we were invited to "table". The carpet strips were laid on courtyard's stone floor and there we were invited to sit down (together with only same company we had been so far). Shortly after having a seat, all the food and drinks were provided and everything else we could wish for. The service was very fast and incredibly generous - so I felt myself like a very-very special guest. Also the food tasted so much different and so much better! :) As a sign of respect and friendship the Indians provided some special sweets from their own hands. Written on black and white now - it sounds rather plain, but I'm telling you - it is not possible to describe the excitement and impressions of this night! I could hardly breath! It was a very extraordinary experience and I must admit that it was complete opposite of everything, what I have experienced in India so far. And when my thoughts were full of complaints and critics about India until now, then today I changed my opinions radically. What can I say - this is not something what it would be possible to find out reading Lonely Planet and going to given direction following map.
