Now I know, how it feels to be discriminated because of the skin color.
Because of my white skin here in Nepal, I:
  • have to pay at least double price for almost all the goods and services (except supermarkets, where the prices are double as well, but at least fixed equally for everyone)
  • seem to be in constant need of taxi, hotel, guide, trekking tour, tiger balm, small violin, etc.
  • seem to be wishing to give all my money to anyone, who asks
  • get greeted in all possible places (ok, I can accept greetings on the streets and shops, but another day complete strangers greeted me from neighboring house, while I was hanging my laundry!! How sick is that!?)
  • am not allowed to do the dishes (here I'm not sure about the reason..)
