Food report

That is how my dinner (mostly) looks! :)

To the picture above the FAQ is more than necessary! ;))
Following questions are the most frequent I get at the canteen:
Are you vegetarian? - No.
Are you rabbit? - No.
Are you on a diet? - No.
Do you really want to become a model?? - Not really!

But I will just write some notes about the food and You can judge Yourself.

--- Breakfast ---
Breakfast is rather on the "light side".
Forever-the-same components are toast, jam, butter, corn flakes and papaya.
Usually I eat only corn flakes and papaya (and one banana bought from supermarket).
There is also egg offered - fried every day in different way, and something "meat-like" (usually liver). And time to time some "interesting" things. But fortunately I'm too sleepy in the mornings - so I don't let to disturb myself by those.
Kind of "white thing" is also offered - looks like something between yoghurt and curds. But I'm still suspicious - so I haven't tried it. Yet.
One morning we had another "white thing" and I was encouraged to taste it. I believe it's the only weird and unknown thing I have tried and liked here so far. It was kind of porridge-like "thing" with coconut flakes - but salty and little spicy. Weird, but not bad. "Tasty" is too early to say! ;))
Tea, coffee and juice are provided as drinks.

--- Lunch and dinner ---
Lunch and dinner are both heavy and quite similar - so I will not describe them separately.
The main food - steamed rice - is my absolute favorite! :)) Always trustworthy - no ugly spices added, and tastes like rice at home! Though - after eating it twice a day for one week, it gets .. well .. let's say a little not-so-favorite ;)
Salad is the second thing I always eat. Usually just sliced tomatoes, cucumber and red(!) carrot. NB! No one from South Africa, Venezuela, Brazil or from where-ever else has ever seen red carrot - so it must be Indian specialty! ;)
Steamed vegetables I like as well, but they are provided without spices only in very special occasions. Usually huge amounts of coriander must be added, before serving! ;)
Bread is also quite good: one spicy and dry, second like pancake - both eatable.
Mmmm.. and then there is the dessert - ice-cream!! It tastes like at home (i.e. very good) and I could never get tired of it - and because of that, it is obviously the high-light of both lunch and dinner! :)
The challenging part are the soups - which look like being on the "second round" (meaning: the soup has been eaten once, and then came out and now provided second time). And most of the sauces look very similar to soups. Plus (I repeat once more) - they like to add this ugly coriander into their dishes very generously. And believe me - I'm not the only person in the world, who doesn't like the coriander! Most of the African people, I have talked to, don't like it either!
Potatoes are also provided, but in two most unacceptable ways: as french fries or mixed with coriander. Maybe one day I will give up and eat french fries, when I get completely tired of steamed rice and vegetables! :)
As meat-dish chicken, lamb or fish is served. Unfortunately with the chicken and lamb they have kind of problem - there are only bones with very little meat! :)) I have no idea, where they put the fillet (maybe it is sent to Europe - so please enjoy! ;) Anyway - every time I skip the "meat" - because I just don't find any between the bones - and get asked whether I'm rabbit, because of eating only vegetables - I reply, that I'm not dog either, that I should eat bones!
