Cooking class

As my organization is dealing with women support and training, they organized cooking class for women, who have finished literacy classes. Not that these women can't cook at all, but they are taught to prepare snacks for selling - so that they could start their small business in the future. So - the class is not only about cooking, but in between there is also explained how to find appropriate raw materials, make contacts, start business etc.
The training course is planned for two days and there are 25 female and one male participants, one female teacher and one male overseer/leader (and me! ;)
First day's schedule included theoretical part - with introduction (where all the participants introduced themselves) and writing down the recipe; and small practical part in the afternoon - with first steps in real cooking. The recipe consisted from three parts: dishes needed, ingredients and spices lists (funny part for me was the dishes list! :) The recipe was written on the dashboard and all women wrote it into their exercise books. It is nothing unusual in European education context, but these women are only starting to read and write! They have studied writing only for two years - imagine! So - some of them had difficulties with understanding or writing some words - and teacher had to explain, correct the mistakes and help to write. But as I was told - when the women came to classes first time, they didn't have courage to say anything or ask or comment - but now it was possible to see, how their eyes were shining, how they were initiative asking questions and getting help and discussing topics among each other as well.
At lunch break the food was brought and after eating women were sharing jokes and singing and dancing. It was really nice! :)
In the afternoon first steps in cooking were made.
At the second day the cooking continued and in the afternoon the snacks were ready for packing. During packing discussions about marketing, selling etc. were going on.
