scary-scary

Here in Nepal I have had quite often fever and weakness and other problems with health. And first two times it was ok - because I thought the climate is different and I'm only getting used to the food etc. But as it is repeating now almost once a week, I began to be quite worried. I have always (almost) perfect health at home. And today I shared my concern with one of my co-worker, who indicated that the problem might be connected to water and food I consume. He listed things, that I should avoid (and explained also, why).
First of all the water from the tap of course. And I have done that. I have strictly been drinking only filtered+boiled water or mineral water. But actually I have been washing my mangoes and apples and tomatoes with the water from the tap - and this might be one of the problems..
Secondly he mentioned tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots.(!!!) I love to eat fresh tomatoes and carrots here! Specially in the morning - after the ugly oily potato-bean-curry-mix. But the guy told, that for growing the carrots (and tomatoes) - enormous amounts of chemical fertilizers is used. But even worse - for watering - the water from sewage system is used(!!). The same water you can see on the "waterfall" photo!! Imagine?! I can't.. My fever just got higher, when finding out..
So - now I literally pray, that I have got cold - and the reason of my fever is not kind of chemical or .. grrr .. I really don't want to know ..
Anyway - starting today I have two joys less: I don't eat fresh tomatoes and I don't eat fresh carrots.
And I can't wait to get home, where I can have food with relative good quality.
And I don't even want to start imagining, how many millions of people don't have ANY choice about the quality of food.. They just have to eat, what is available.. :(
