Today I went for a small sightseeing-walk in Tallinn Old Town and discovered that the viewing platform of Oleviste kirik is open and not too crowded. I think it has been open already couple of years, but somehow I have never reached there yet. But it's really worth going there, I would say! Even the climbing is not too hard. The winding staircase is built in a very clever way: first it goes counter-clockwise and on the half way it starts going clockwise - so that when you reach the top, your head is not whirling! :) And on the way there are even small benches for making a break! And the view at the 60 m height looks good (even on the gray day like today)!

Did you know, that Oleviste kirik:
- was first mentioned at 1267
- got its name after Norwegian king - Olaf II Haraldsson
- was with its 159 m the highest building in medieval Europe (and some sources even claim that in the whole world)
